Shaping up walls and ceilings
Question: Of all the rooms in a home, we have heard that the condition of baths and kitchen is most important to most home buyers. Our walls and ceilings in all these rooms are in bad shape because of the moisture and layers of wall paper and paint that have built up. How do we fix these without re-sheet rocking or painting…affordably?

Where did the light go?
Question: I have heard from various places that flat paint and ceiling textures that have been in place for a number of years can absorb the light that is available in a room. Is this true? How much does that affect things?

Increasing home values from the inside
Question: We are not interested in selling our home at present, but some day we will. We have watched many others when they do this and it seems as though they always do it AFTER they decide to sell. The expense seems huge and it is done quickly. We would like to plan an eventual sale long before we’re ready. Most people work on “curb appeal” and try to improve the value from the outside. Few talk about how to increase the value of one’s home from the inside. Do you have any tips?

Fixing ceiling water stains
Question: After several years of winds, rains and snow my ceilings have a number of water stains. Is there a simple way to fix them so they are not so obvious? What do you suppose caused my roof to all of a sudden, begin leaking in the first place?
